Ali Bin Zahid was an MLA candidate for the riding of Calgary-Foothills in the 2015 provincial general election and the subsequent by-election.
A resident of Edgemont, Ali graduated from the University of Waterloo with a degree in Electrical Engineering and since then has attained Project Management Professional certification.
Ali is a firm believer that hard work and creative solutions are fundamental to a prosperous future. He supports the elimination of the small business tax as one of the keys to economic diversification and job creation.
Ali is a volunteer with the International Development and Relief Foundation, and is committed to his community through volunteering with the Edgemont Community Association.
In his spare time, Ali plays cricket, enjoys writing, and loves to travel.
